Starring: Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, and Tyler Perry
Review: “Gone Girl” is amongst many things, a film that makes being married look like such an adventure. From the beginning it’s clear that the audience is about to embark on a journey with Ben Affleck’s character and his oh so “loving” relationship with his wife. We quickly see how drastic his life married to his love really is as we discover his wife is gone, presumed dead. With a look a serious of flash backs, diary entries, half hearted statements to police, and numerous amount of clues and lies piling up it’s clear that something happened between the lovers that made this story happen. Fincher’s creativity in filiming each scene truly brings viewers to the edge of their seat and often squirming in their seats as thrills and twists play out with beautiful imagery. I believe Fincher took on this novel with a right mindset and delivered a compelling and rather haunting story of adultery, revenge, and craziness to the minds of interested viewers. Overall, the film made me quite pleased with the overall cinematic storytelling and twist filled thriller movie. Although, many like myself may not like the ending, the movie was simply put together well and deserves a viewing.
